it's been a rough weekend. I worked nights doing projections for roger waters from pink floyd, then at daytime I moved in to a new room. I moved a few blocks form east williamsburg to bushwick. I'm in need of a day off or two, but on wednesday I'm leaving for DC to continue this pink floyd business. then after that it's off to orlando. oh how I love florida.

I went for this year's first bike ride in prospect park today. surprisingly I made it through without a heart attack. been driving around downtown austin all day. it looks a lot like any downtown in america. then of course I had to go to wal-mart for supplies. this wal-mart also looked like any other wal-mart in america. but praise the lord for that, otherwise I would have been running around in that god forsaken store for days looking for philip heads, duct tape and extension cords.

I spent the evening dealing with technical issues. nothing ever goes according to plan in my profession. It kinda bothered me the first few years, but now I manage to sleep through the night even if everything goes wrong. it mostly pisses me off because I have to work 16 hours a day instead of 9, without making anything extra.

I'm in austin. it's nothing like I expected, it's very green everywhere. unfortunately I couldn't get a hotel downtown. it seems like all of the 1600 bands playing here have reserved everything so I'm stuck in the burbs. at least there's a whole foods next to the hotel so I won't be forced to eat bbq three times a day. as far as I can tell the locals all seem to hate SXSW, and they are saying that it's getting worse and worse every year. I guess you can say the hype is over when mainstream media sends me down here to do advertising.

and guess who's being sent to south by south west for 12 days? I only wish it was as a photographer so I could cover some amazing bands. I'll spend the evenings doing video projections for AOL.

seems like a lot of people got a snowday yesterday. here at the office we regard snowdays as childish and snow is not something grown ups need to get a day off for. manhattan was god awful and nasty, covered in grey sleet. however when I got off the train at the morgan stop everything was perfectly white, beautiful and rather peaceful. the lens protection cover froze as I was taking this photo. I think it made things a bit more interesting.
